Lyndon's Highway Department is the single-largest and most vital segment of our town government. The Highway Superintendent and two full-time employees are responsible for all our town road building, maintenance, and equipment upkeep. Duties include, among other, building, mowing, ditching and grading roads, plowing snow, sanding, repairing equipment, barn maintenance, purchasing, and records.
Approximately 2/3 of highway expenditures come from local tax dollars. It is a constant battle to balance the funds available with the needs of the community. Fortunately, Lyndon's highway crew and the Town Board have good working relationships that gives us the best service for the dollar spent.
