The Town of Lyndon is organized and governed under the laws and guidance of the State of New York. It's elected officials are directed by a myriad of state, municipal, town, and other laws. The general structure of our local government is fairly simple.
Elected officials include: Town Supervisor, Town Council (4), Highway Superintendent, Town Clerk, and Town Justice. Any other positions such as Dog Control Officer, Tax Assessor, Town Attorney, etc. are appointed/hired by the Town Board, which is comprised of the Supervisor and four Council Members.
All elected officials answer directly to the taxpayers. All appointed officials answer to the Town Board.
Town Board Meetings are scheduled for every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m., and public attendance is welcome.
